Blue Sky Careers recognises its moral and legal responsibilities to providing a safe and healthy environment for our employees and contractors. We are committed to maintaining high levels of occupational health and safety in all aspects of our operations.

This commitment extends to our clients who must ensure that they have an informed OH&S program as part of their induction for anyone undertaking contracts of work onsite at client premises through Blue Sky Careers.

Objectives

The policy aims to:

provide safe plant and systems of work
provide written procedures and instructions to ensure safe systems of work are implemented
ensure compliance with legislative requirements and current “state of knowledge” standards and/or codes of practice
provide employees, temporary workers, contractors and customers with regular information, instruction, training and supervision to ensure their safety
provide a framework for continual improvement in safety performance
ensure a risk management approach is taken to OH&S
ensure that our client work sites have an informed process on OH&S as part of the induction for employees and contract staff, performing contracts of employment onsite at client locations.

Responsibilities

Blue Sky Careers recognises that we and our clients have overall responsibility to provide a safe and healthy workplace for our employees and contract staff at client locations.

It is the responsibility of Blue Sky Careers and our clients to be accountable for robust OH&S practices as part of the induction process, as well as ongoing training and development in this area to make sure the workplace is safe for our employees and contractors.

Blue Sky Careers reviews our Health & Safety policy annually in line with operational and regulatory changes.

Employee and contractor obligations

comply with Blue Sky Careers and our client’s OH&S initiatives, policies and procedures
report hazards and risks in a timely manner
ensure your own safety and where possible the safety of fellow employees and contractors at the client site.

Consultation

Blue Sky Careers has total commitment to encouraging consultation and cooperation between management, employees, contractors and our clients in improving OH&S and providing a safer environment for all parties.
