Structuring a successful interview

Structure your interview: (a standard interview should range from 1 hour to 1.5 hours)

  • Extend a warm welcome: Candidates who are at ease tend to be more forthcoming and interactive during interviews
  • Qualifications: Obtain and verify qualifications whilst gaining a through understanding of education history
  • Work History: gain an in-depth understanding of previous positions including nature, scope, accountabilities and achievements
  • Personality and Personal Style: Ask behavioural questions to assess management style and other role specific competencies such as communication and interpersonal abilities, negotiation and people management skills etc.
  • Aspirations: Gain an understanding of career plan and key motivators.
